Dental Innovation Alliance (DIA) Venture Capital Firm Launches to Fund the Future of Dentistry through Innovative Technology
Boston, Nashville, and Raleigh-Durham
Dental Innovation Alliance (known as “DIA”) funds bold entrepreneurs building the future of dentistry through technology. With offices in Boston, Nashville, and Raleigh-Durham, DIA is set to power the next generation of dentistry through a strategic investment edge. DIA is the first firm of its kind that collectively funds, advises, and propels the success of early-stage dental technology companies, and features a core of investors who help connect entrepreneurs with potential sales.
DIA’s investor base includes executives and experts from some of the largest and most innovative dental support organizations and other dental businesses. DIA engages this network, its operational experience, its financial resources, and its connections to help portfolio companies accelerate their business growth. Currently, the firm includes 22 strategic investors and represents potential access for innovators to over 5,300 dental offices.
DIA’s leadership and investor team has a combined 200+ years of dental experience. It is led by Managing Partners Doug Brown and Thomas Sharpe, former CEOs of large and successful dental support organizations.
“DIA provides necessary access to capital, advice, and connections for promising technology innovators. Innovators can get capital in many places, but the advice and connections set DIA apart. Our investor network offers unique opportunities for early-stage companies as they are receiving unparalleled access to some of the most promising market opportunities in dentistry. It’s an exciting time in the space, and reception to our concept has exceeded initial expectations,” says Doug Brown.
“There is a vast number of early-stage SaaS, device, and therapeutic companies serving DSOs and private practices that are ripe investment opportunities. They are currently limited by their access to capital and connections along with mentoring. This challenge presents an extraordinary opportunity. Collectively, DIA is changing the game, and it feels great to give back to the industry in this way,” adds Thomas Sharpe.
DIA has a vision to become the preeminent resource for fostering innovation and collaboration in the dental and health sectors. The firm is set to close its first two deals at the end of March and is currently considering new accredited investors while actively vetting early-stage dental technology companies.
