Florida Dental Association (FDA) Becomes Charter Association Partner with DIA
The Florida Dental Association (FDA), a leading voice in organized dentistry, has joined DIA as a Charter Association Partner. For more than a century, the Florida Dental Association has been dedicated to serving licensed dentists across the state, helping them navigate the challenges of managing their practices while staying focused on delivering the best patient care possible. The FDA offers a wide range of products and services that protect the interests of its members and provide educational opportunities to help them thrive. At its core, the FDA’s mission is simple: "helping members succeed."
Greg Gruber, FDA’s Chief OperatingOfficer/Chief Financial Officer states, "There is increasing pressure for dental associations to generate non-dues revenue. One under-utilized asset to achieve this goal is the investment portfolio. Dental associations have traditionally approached investment management in a very conservative manner often taking on only nearly risk-free investments with too short a duration. This approach has left many portfolios underperforming the market. The FDA has opted to change its approach to investing so that it is investing along the entire risk continuum which allows for greater returns while taking on only a modest increase in risk to its overall portfolio. Our partnership with DIA was the final piece of that puzzle allowing the FDA to round out its risk profile.”
"We’re able to invest in innovative solutions for the dental industry that align with our mission of making our members successful. It’s a great fit, and we’re excited about the possibilities this collaboration brings."
The FDA has consistently been forward-thinking in the way it approaches its business, from launching the FDAServices Dental Insurance Agency in 1986 to bringing best of breed insurance products like its cyberliability insurance to dental offices. These initiatives ensure that members not only receive top-tier protection but also benefit from reduced costs. The FDA’s role is to manage the business side of dentistry, ensuring their members have the tools, resources, and support to focus on what matters most: patient care. By handling these business needs, the FDA allows its members to stay focused on providing the highest quality care to patients.
As the organization continues to adapt to the changing needs of its members, partnering with DIA offers new opportunities to further its mission.
"We have always prioritized forward-thinking solutions that support the success of our members," saysCarrie Millar, Vice President of Business Development for FDA Services.
"Our partnership with DIA is a natural extension of that approach, offering our members even more innovative services and opportunities that will help them thrive in an evolving industry."
The FDA is deeply committed to ensuring its members have a voice in shaping the future of the dental profession.Through local affiliate meetings, leadership events like the LEAD (LeadersEmerging Among Dentistry) event, and the Florida Mission of Mercy program — which has provided donated dental care to over 17,000 patients — the FDA empowers its members to make an impact not just in their practices, but also in their communities.
